Ammon News - The Lower House Finance Committee on Sunday held a meeting to set its work mechanism in discussing Audit Bureau (AB) reports for 2018-2021.
Acting House Speaker, Ahmad Khalaileh, said the bureau enjoys citizens' confidence, stressing the need to develop its work and provide all kinds of support required to improve its performance.
Meanwhile, the committee's chairman, MP Nimr Sulaihat, pledged zero tolerance for any violation that is discussed in the bureau's report, adding that the latest procedures taken on its various outcomes will be reviewed.
Noting procedures to address irregularities, he said the reports requested the government to refer violations to the judiciary and Jordan Integrity and Anti-corruption Commission (JIACC), as well as collecting funds and rectifying conditions.
Sulaihat also noted the House needs to finish making decisions on the bureau's outcomes.
For his part, the bureau's acting head, Ibrahim Majali, said the oversight body works to preserve and protect public money and prevent related violations, pointing out that its reports are discussed with the concerned public institutions.
