14-11-2024 04:44 PM

Ammon News - His Majesty King Abdullah II is set to inaugurate the initial regular session of the 20th National Assembly next Monday, delivering a Speech from the Throne.

His Majesty is set to arrive at the National Assembly to commence the first regular session of the Assembly at 12:30 pm.

Throne speeches typically cover local matters, such as reforms, government directives, and crises that have impacted Jordan in multiple areas of life, particularly concerning the economy, the Palestinian issue, and regional affairs.

The Speech from the Throne typically includes special ceremonies, as His Majesty the King enters the National Assembly courtyard in the red motorcade, being greeted by the Senate Speaker, the House of Representatives Speaker, the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and prominent individuals.

The Armed Forces bands will perform the Royal Anthem upon His Majesty's arrival in the red motorcade, as is tradition on these occasions, prior to His Majesty reviewing the Guard of Honor.

On this occasion, His Majesty the King dons the royal attire, which is white during summer and black during winter. The King dons the throne attire solely on the day he ascends the throne and during the throne speech.
