Ammon News - Jordan imported consumer goods since the beginning of 2024 until the end of last July worth JD3.941 billion, an increase of 14% compared to the same period in 2023, so that these goods constitute 36.7% of Jordan's total imports, according to a report issued by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

The foreign trade developments report that recently issued by the CBJ, which Ammon has reviewed, revealed that the largest share of Jordan’s imports in terms of value came from raw materials and intermediate goods, with their value in the first 7 months of the current year recording nearly JD5.102 billion, down by 12% compared to the first 7 months of last year, constituting 47.5% of total imports during the comparison period.

As for the Kingdom’s imports of capital goods, they amounted to nearly JD1.378 billion in the 7 months of this year, an increase of 15.1% over the same period in 2023, and their relative importance is nearly 12.8% of total imports.

In terms of exports, Jordan exported consumer goods worth more than JD2.51 billion until the end of last July, accounting for 51.8% of the Kingdom’s total exports during the same period, an increase of 23.9% compared to the same period last year.
