Ammon News - Today, Sunday, Jordan will host a regional and international meeting in Aqaba to discuss the situation in the Palestinian territories between Palestinians and Israelis.
Egypt and the United States will both have representatives at the meeting.
Jordan is the only country to have successfully brought together Palestinian and Israeli political and security officials with a regional and international presence, according to an official source who confirmed to Ammon.
"It is clear that the extremist forces do not want political involvement that would prevent unilateral measures," he said.
He noted that Jordan held the meeting in full coordination with Palestine with the aim of reaching a consensus that would stop the unilateral measures that cause tension and undermine the chances of achieving a just peace based on the two-state solution, in light of the seriousness of the situation in order to stop the deterioration.
Jordan considers the Palestinian issue to be the first central issue whose solution on the basis of the two-state solution constitutes a condition for achieving stability, security and a just, lasting and comprehensive peace.
Jordan stresses that Israel must end all military operations and illegal actions that threaten the prospects for a two-state solution and peace.
