The Senate, during its session on Thursday, approved the 2024 draft general pardon law, as passed on by the Lower House.

The Senate's Legal Committee approved during its meeting on Wednesday the 2024 draft general pardon law as passed on by the Lower House, which approved the law as passed on by the government.

Head of the Senate's Legal Committee, Ahmed Tbaishat, said that the 2024 general pardon law does not differ much from the pardon law of 2019 except in some issues.

Tbaishat also stated that this law included more than 7,000 detainees in prisons who will be released as a result of this law after a royal decree is issued approving it.
