The Senate legal committee approved on Wednesday during its meeting, the draft general pardon law as passed on by the Lower House. Head of the Senate's Legal Committee, Ahmed Tbaishat, said that the 2024 general pardon law does not differ much from the pardon law of 2019 except in some issues. Tbaishat also stated that this law included more than 7,000 detainees in prisons who will be released as a result of this law after a royal decree is issued approving it.

Senate discusses 2024 General Pardon Law Thursday

Ammon News - The Senate will discuss on Thursday the 2024 general pardon law, in order to implement its constitutional procedures.

The Senate legal committee approved on Wednesday during its meeting, the draft general pardon law as passed on by the Lower House.

Head of the Senate's Legal Committee, Ahmed Tbaishat, said that the 2024 general pardon law does not differ much from the pardon law of 2019 except in some issues.

Tbaishat also stated that this law included more than 7,000 detainees in prisons who will be released as a result of this law after a royal decree is issued approving it.
