Safadi stressed the importance of cementing joint cooperation in agricultural and water fields "in light of the challenges facing the region, as water and food security and climate change require regional cooperation, which Jordan and Saudi Arabia are keen on under the directives of the leadership of both countries," according to a Lower House statement.
Safadi stressed the exchange of expertise in this context, adding that Jordan attached great importance and has a national sustainable agricultural plan, and a clear strategy to enhance food and water security.
He noted that the Arab Parliament had endorsed support for setting up a regional center for food security in Jordan with Arab and international support.
For his part, Al-Fadli stressed the deep Saudi-Jordanian relations, and the importance of joint cooperation in line with the vision of the leadership of both countries, calling on the ministers of agriculture, water and environment to visit Saudi Arabia to further advance cooperation.
He pointed to a joint memorandum of understanding signed by the two countries, which, he said, contributes to the transfer of expertise in water harvesting technology, environmental projects and the endeavor to expand the green area, as well as the exchange of expertise in the plant and animal field.
