Ammon News - The Senate donated JD40,000 in humanitarian aid to Syria for survivors of a deadly earthquake that recently struck the country.

The sum was provided to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), which is the only entity in Jordan responsible for raising and delivering aid.

A Senate statement issued Thursday said the donation was raised through the council's Social Responsibility Fund's monthly deductions from senators' salaries.
