Ammon News - Jordan on Monday will be affected by unstable weather conditions, bringing cold and cloudy weather with intermittent rain showers, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
In the afternoon, rainfall is expected to be heavy with thunder and hail at times in the southern areas and parts of the central region, including the Dead Sea, the JMD added.
"A slight chance for light showers of snow mixed with rain is forecast over the southern high peaks of Al-Sharah mountain range," forecasters predicted.
In its report, the JMD warned of poor horizontal visibility in the early morning hours over the highlands and the Badia due to heavy fog, flash floods in valleys and lowlands, and slippery roads in areas that witness downpours.
On Tuesday, a slight rise in temperatures is expected, triggering pleasant conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, and relatively cold weather in other regions, with low clouds, the JMD said.
A further increase in mercury levels is forecast on Wednesday, becoming 3-4 degrees above their annual average, but similar weather conditions will persist, the JMD noted.
Temperatures in the capital Amman today will range between a high of 14 degrees Celsius and a low of 3C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 22C, sliding to 10C at night.
