Ammon News - The Ministry of Transport hosted a five-day training workshop for members of the Technical Committee for Transport and Trade Facilitation, in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The workshop is part of the Ministry's ongoing commitment to developing the skills of its staff and partners in various sectors, with a focus on enhancing knowledge of international trade facilitation measures and commitments.

During the workshop's opening session, Ministry Secretary-General Fares Abu Diyah emphasized the importance of the training in aligning Jordan’s trade and transport practices with international standards. He noted that the program aims to improve coordination and cooperation among committee members, ultimately streamlining transport and trade procedures to boost efficiency.

Abu Diyah also highlighted the necessity of formulating effective recommendations that can influence decision-makers to implement practical solutions for improving the transport and trade sectors. He stressed that continued collaboration and actionable outcomes are essential for advancing these sectors in Jordan and the wider region.

The training program, led by GIZ, covers key areas including cross-border trade and transport facilitation, simplifying trade processes, and reducing barriers in international trade. Topics also include the simplification of trade documentation and an overview of regulatory frameworks such as customs requirements, product quality standards, and safety regulations, alongside export control laws.

The workshop is expected to foster deeper collaboration between Jordan's transport and trade sectors, advancing efforts to meet global standards and improve operational efficiency.
