Shots from the Throne Speech .. 10 minutes and the audience applauded 14 times (photos)

Ammon News - His Majesty King Abdullah II arrived at the National Assembly courtyard on Monday afternoon, riding in the red motorcade to open the second regular session of the 19th National Assembly.

His Majesty was accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.

His Majesty was received by Senate President Faisal Al Fayez, Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti, and a number of dignitaries.

Upon His Majesty's arrival at the National Assembly, the artillery fired 21 shots in salute of His Majesty the King, and the Armed Forces bands played the Royal Anthem, as is customary on such occasions.

His Majesty the King reviewed the guard of honor, which lined up to salute him after the reception ceremony ended.

His Majesty wore the black throne dress, which is the winter dress, while the summer dress is white. The King wears the throne dress only on the day of his accession to the throne and on the day of the Speech from the Throne.

Inside the National Assembly, His Majesty was received by a number of princes, led by Faisal bin Al Hussein and Hashem bin Al Hussein, and a number of His Majesty's advisors.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah and a number of princesses and dignitaries were present on the balconies.

The King's speech lasted for 10 minutes.

The speech focused on establishing the foundations for modernizing the state and strengthening its resilience, and starting a new phase in the modernization process, stressing that Jordan's future will not be subject to policies that do not serve its interests.

His Majesty stressed that a just and honorable peace is the way to lift the historical injustice against our Palestinian brothers, and we will remain committed to it as an option that restores full rights to their owners and grants security to all, despite all obstacles and the extremism of those who do not believe in peace.

The Arab Jerusalem will remain a Hashemite Jordanian priority, and we will continue to defend and preserve its sanctities, based on the Hashemite guardianship, which we perform with honor and integrity.

The audience applauded His Majesty the King 14 times before, during and after his speech, and cheered him under the dome. The audience stood up 7 times, the first when His Majesty entered, the second when they chanted the King’s name, the third when he confirmed that Jordan will not submit to policies that do not serve its interests, the fourth when he confirmed that Jerusalem is a priority for Jordan, the fifth when he saluted the brave men of the armed forces, the sixth when he confirmed that the army and security services will remain a source of pride for the country, and the seventh when His Majesty left the hall.
