PM participates in panel discussion for Jordanian, Bahrain ministers, private sectors' leaders in Manama

Ammon News - Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Thursday participated in a panel discussion organized by the Economic Development Board/the entity responsible for investments in Bahrain, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, ministers and leaders from the private sector, chambers of industry and commerce, and businessmen from both countries.

In the session, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of leveraging the cooperation opportunities available between Jordan and Bahrain in various fields, especially investment fields, stressing that the two countries have many advantages, opportunities and potentials that can be built upon to serve their common interests, in implementation of visions and directives of both countries leaderships.

Khasawneh underlined the importance of the participation of both countries' private sectors in such dialogue and discussions that would lead to real partnerships and fruitful cooperation that serves the interests of the two countries and peoples.

Khasawneh highlighted actions and measures taken by the government to regulate the investment environment in Jordan and remove obstacles and challenges facing the investment environment, including the establishment of the Ministry of Investment and the endorsement of the new investment environment regulation law, which unified the investment references and removed many bureaucratic obstacles, thus contributing to attracting local and foreign investments and supporting the existing ones.

Khasawneh commended Bahrain's experience in enhancing the investment environment and the follow-up and action mechanism used in this sector, expressing Jordan's welcome to Bahraini investments and any partnerships between sovereign funds and relevant authorities in the public and private sectors in both countries.

Bahrain Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, highlighted the Economic Development Board experience in attracting and supporting investments, and key strategies, work mechanism and practices followed in this sector.

An extensive discussion took place during the session, in which the attending ministers and private sector leaders from both countries participated.

The discussion covered mechanisms for developing the investment environment and best practices in light of the two countries' experiences in this field.
