Ammon News - On Sunday, Zeliana Zovko, the Head of the European Union Election Observation Mission (EUEM), was welcomed by His Majesty King Abdullah II at Al Husseiniya Palace.
At the meeting, the King confirmed that Jordan remains dedicated to following modernization strategies despite challenges in the region. He mentioned that the recent parliamentary elections mark the beginning of a three-step political modernization process, focusing on promoting party-led programs and increasing the involvement of young people and women.
In the presence of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, His Majesty commended the EU's monitoring of the electoral process and its ongoing support for development in various fields in the Kingdom.
The meeting discussed developments in the region, actions taken to end the Israeli conflict in Gaza and Lebanon, and global efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The Head of the Mission commended the political modernization efforts in the Kingdom, such as conducting elections for the twentieth House of Representatives.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Director of His Majesty's Office Eng. Alaa Batayneh, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission Eng. Musa Maaytah, and the European Union Ambassador to Jordan Pierre-Christophe Katzisavas.
