Minister of Water, Japanese ambassador talk cooperation

Ammon News - Minister of Water and Irrigation, Mohammed Najjar met with the Japanese ambassador to Jordan, Jiro Okuyama, in his office at the Ministry on Thursday, in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.
Minister Najjar affirmed that the ministry is seeking with all its capabilities to move forward with the development of its water resources and accelerate the implementation of the national carrier project (Aqaba - Amman), and confronting the effects of climate change, the effects of asylum, the decline of water resources, rain, drought, and the reduction of water loss.
Najjar said the Jordanian-Japanese partnership continuous in a number of projects, expressing his gratitude and great appreciation on behalf of the Jordanian government and the Ministry of Water and Irrigation for the continuous Japanese support for the water sector in Jordan and its intention to provide $5 million as support for the national carrier project.
For his part, the Japanese Ambassador, Jiro Okuyama, praised the permanent and constructive cooperation of the water sector institutions, which reflects the depth of the exemplary friendship between the two countries, Praising the development witnessed by the water sector in facing water challenges, stressing Japan's commitment to support Jordan and discussing all possible forms of support that fall within the priorities of the water sector in Jordan.
