Ammon News - Israeli occupation forces detained at least 15 Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, including a child and former prisoners, during a series of overnight raids, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Society and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.
The detentions, which occurred between Saturday night and Sunday morning, took place in several districts, including Hebron, Ramallah, Qalqilya, Tulkarm, Salfit, and Jerusalem.
The two organizations said in a joint statement that the detentions are part of Israel's ongoing campaign of widespread detentions across the West Bank. In addition to the detentions, Israeli forces subjected detainees and their families to threats, physical abuse, and destruction of property during the raids.
The recent detentions bring the total number of Palestinians detained since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli aggression to over 11,700, including those arrested from both the West Bank and Jerusalem. These numbers reflect the growing scale of Israel's mass detention policy, which has intensified dramatically since October 7, 2024.
In addition to the detentions, the report indicate that Israeli forces are continuing their policy of widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure, further compounding the humanitarian crisis in the West Bank.
The detention of Palestinians remains one of the Israeli military's primary methods of repression in the occupied territories, and the number of arrests has spiked in recent weeks, with many detainees held without charge or trial under Israel's policy of administrative detention.
