Ammon News - The Kingdom on Monday is forecast to be affected by a cold and wet air mass accompanied by a depression, pushing temperatures down and bringing cold, cloudy, and rainy weather conditions in most regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
The rainfall will be heavy at times, accompanied by thunder and hail, and causing flash floods in valleys and low areas, including the city of Aqaba and the Dead Sea.
At night, rainy weather will taper off in the northern region, while a chance of snowflakes mixed with rain is expected over the southern high peaks of Al-Sharah mountain range. Winds will be westerly brisk, with strong gusts exceeding 50-60 km/hour.
In its report, the weather department warned of poor horizontal visibility in the highlands due to fog formation and in Badia areas due to dust.
Cold and partly cloudy conditions will persist on Tuesday, with a chance for showers in the southern and eastern parts of the Kingdom.
On Wednesday, a slight rise in mercury levels is expected, with clouds at low altitudes and northwesterly moderate winds, the JMD added.
Temperatures in the capital Amman today will range between a high of 11 degrees Celsius and a low of 3C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 19C, sliding to 12C at night.
