Ammon News - The police Monday reported that investigations and evidence indicate that the "terrorist" killed during a security campaign in Ma'an on Monday morning was the one who had shot and killed police officer Abdul Razzaq Dalabeeh.

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) added in a statement that the investigations showed that the group of suspects had devised a plan to attack police officers deployed to deal with protests over fuel prices, during which police officer Dalabeeh was killed. Two other officers were wounded after the suspects opened fire at them.

The PSD said the confiscated weapon during the raid that claimed the lives of three officers is similar to weapons used to kill officer Dalabeeh.

It noted that the security force that carried out the raid this morning was "qualified and efficient and worked for long hours to arrest all wanted persons and neutralise the killer in complex circumstances." It added that the suspects were heavily armed and fired volleys at the advancing security forces.

The PSD mourned the death of its staff during the security campaign, saying that it is "sorry" that accounts on social media would propagate "poisonous" misinformation.
