PM urges smoothness of trucks, goods movement, announces Zero fees on port storage

Ammon News - Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh stressed the importance of maintaining necessary measures to enforce and consolidate the rule law, preserving public and private property and streamlining services provision to citizens.

In a cabinet meeting, attended by a number of ministers, officials, senior security officers and stakeholders, the Prime Minister underlined the government's respect for the right to peaceful expression of opinion in accordance under the constitution.

Khasawneh started the meeting by paying tribute to martyr Colonel Abdulrazzaq Dalabeeh, deputy police director of Maan Governorate, who died while performing his duty, serving the homeland and preserving the safety of citizens and public and private property, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

He said that the relevant security apparatus continue their efforts, day and night, to track down murderers and vandals, who targeted martyr Dalabeeh and the injured, and bring them to justice.

The Prime Minister lauded efforts of the security forces who work day and night in order to consolidate the rule of law, ensure citizens' comfort, and secure public and private property.

The Prime Minister was briefed on the movement of freight and the flow of goods supply to and from the city of Aqaba, which has begun to return to normal.

Khasawneh reaffirmed that no additional fees for goods and containers stored at the port will be collected until resuming freight traffic as usual, and take all necessary procedures and measures to ensure the smoothness of freight operations.

He gave instructions to facilitate the movement of trucks according to the priorities of shipping goods that cannot be delayed in the port, and to ensure a smooth flow of goods supply chains to the local market.

He also gave instructions to form a team headed by the Interior Minister that includes a number of ministers and officials from competent authorities to follow up on the supply chains and secure the stock and its access to all concerned sectors to sustain their work normally.
