Ammon News - Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) launched an initiative to stimulate local pharmaceutical companies to manufacture and register drugs that are suffering hardships in their delivery to the local market.
The initiative aims to provide drugs at "affordable" prices for citizens and achieve drug security in the Kingdom, in cooperation with the national stakeholders, JFDA Director General, Nizar Mheidat, said in a press statement on Wednesday.
The step comes as part of JFDA's continued role in following up and monitoring the Kingdom's drug reserves and enhancing quantities to meet local market's needs by granting incentive priviliges, Mheidat noted.
To expedite the process, he said priority is given to drug registration after related documents are submitted, adding that JFDA will provide technical advice through its competent departments in this regard.
JFDA, he noted, has shortlisted these medicines and were posted on its website, adding that a booklet was issued to introduce this initiative.
