Ministry: About 72% of Jordanians have health insurance

Ammon News - Director of the Health Insurance Department at the Ministry of Health, Nael Adwan, said Monday, that 72% of Jordanians have health insurance, of which 43-44% are on the civil health insurance system.

Adwan added that it is important to reach the concept of comprehensive health insurance, noting that the percentage of health insured is distributed among military insurance and university and private hospitals.

The number of people covered by health insurance between the first, second and third degrees is 3,400,000 Jordanians, he said.

Adawn revealed that he had addressed the prime minister to include new segments in civil health insurance and to announce them soon.
