Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Friday warned of the ongoing Israeli incursions and repeated attacks on Palestinian cities, the latest of which was the attack on the city of Jenin early Thursday.

The ministry denounced the Israeli military escalation, which threatens to trigger a new wave of violence, for which everyone will pay the price.

The ministry spokesperson, Ambassador Sinan Majali, said that violence will only generate more violence, and that the Israeli incursions into Palestinian cities and the measures that perpetuate the occupation, along with the continuation of the total stalemate in the peace process, pushes towards a dangerous escalation for which Israel bears the responsibility, threatens security and stability, and kills what remains of hope and the feasibility of the peace process.

Majali said that Israel must stop all its military operations against the Palestinians and all its illegal measures that undermine the two-state solution and chances of achieving peace.

He urged the international community to immediately provide protection for the Palestinian people, and to launch a real effort to achieve a just peace that ends the occupation and embodies the independent Palestinian state with occupied Jerusalem as its capital on the pre-June 4, 1967 borders, to live in security and peace alongside Israel, on the basis of the two-state solution, and in accordance with the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative.
