Fourth round of Jordan rally championship to kick off Friday

Ammon News - Jordan Motorsport has set next Friday, August 12th as the date for the start of the fourth round of the Jordan National Rally Championship.

The rally will start from the Tel al-Rumman area in Jerash, according to supplementary rules released by Jordan Motorsport on Sunday. The announcement stated that registration for the normal (about JD90) and double (about JD180) fees will end on Monday, August 8. On Wednesday, August 10, administrative inspections and scrutineering will take place at the Royal Automobile Club's training lot.

Jordan Motorsport pointed out that the course, as well as the reconnaissance schedule, will be announced next Thursday, August 11th.

The championship consists of four rallies: Salhoub 1 and Salhoub 2 as well as Rumman 1 and Rumman 2, which is the Power Rally. The rally's total distance is 160.16 kilometers, of which 61.70 kilometers are special stages.

According to the Jordan Motorsport website, rallying in Jordan dates back to 1961, when His Majesty the late King Hussein took part in a Scavenger Hunt. The first Jordan Rally took place in 1981, and it later became a part of the Middle East Rally Championship in 1983.
