Ammon News - The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in cooperation with the Korean Alumni Association of Jordan (KAAJ) on Thursday distributed food packages to low-income and vulnerable families in the Saham area of the Irbid Governorate.

The food parcels for approximately 70 families contain rice, flour, oil, sugar and other necessary food commodities, according to a KAAJ statement.

This food parcel distribution was part of the KAAJ’s mission to support the betterment of Jordan’s vulnerable communities and to mitigate the burden on low-income families in the Kingdom by securing enough nourishment during the holy month of Ramadan.

This donation marks the launch of a series of voluntary activities that will be implemented during the year through KAAJ with the aim to support more Jordanian communities in different governorates.

The KAAJ was founded in 2008 as a platform for over 850 participants of the KOICA training programme to sustain and strengthen the close cooperative relationship between Jordan and the Republic of Korea, according to the statement.

The alumni association has organised numerous philanthropic activities for local development in Jordan in cooperation with the KOICA Jordan office.
