GDP grows 2.2pct in 2021

Ammon News - Jordan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant market prices grew by 2.2 percent in 2021, compared to the figure reported in 2020.

In a quarterly statistical report released Sunday, the Department of Statistics (DoS) said that the GDP inched up by 2.6 percent in the fourth quarter of last year compared to the same period of 2020.

It indicated that the construction sector expanded by 6.1 percent in the reporting period, followed by the extractive industries 5.6 percent, the transportation, storage and communications sector 3.9 percent, and the wholesale and retail trade and the hospitality sector 3.5 percent.
