In a statement on Thursday, the ministry's official spokesperson, Haitham Abu Al-Foul, said the Jewish extremists’ incursions and their "provocative" behavior are a violation of Jerusalem's existing historical and legal status quo and international law. Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, with its entire 144 dunum area is a place of worship purely for Muslims, he noted, adding that Jordan-run Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department is the legal authority with the exclusive power to manage all affairs related to entry to the holy site, he pointed out.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned incursion of an Israeli Knesset member into Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif compound on Thursday morning, under protection of the Israeli police.
