General government revenue hit JD7.32bln in 2021: MoF

Ammon News - The government's general revenues rose to about JD7.325 billion in 2021, according to figures released Wednesday by the Ministry of Finance (MoF). The actual collection rate rose by 100.4 percent, recording an increase of about JD1.087 billion, compared to 2020.

The ministry attributed this rise to an increase in tax revenues, by JD668.3 million, and non-tax revenues by JD418.5 million. On the other hand, public expenditures increased by JD647.4 million, reaching a total of JD9.859 billion, or 7 percent compared to 2020.

This rise was driven by an increase of JD315.4 million in capital expenditures compared to 2020.

The ministry was able to reduce the budget deficit by JD451.9 million compared to 2020, and JD239.7 million compared to the deficit estimated in the general budget law for the fiscal year 2021.
