Court fines government official JD3,000 for conflict of interests

Ammon News - The Amman Magistrates Court on Tuesday fined a director at a regulatory government body JD3,000 after it found him guilty of conflict of interest.

In its verdict, the court said the defendant, who also worked a consultant for the regulatory body's general director, failed to disclose a perceived conflict of interest related to the procurement of goods subject to the oversight of his employer.

The ruling is open to appeal before a higher court.
