PSD chief meets senior British police officers in London

Director of Public Security Department (PSD), Maj. Gen Hussain Hawatmeh, met with senior British police officers in London.
Hawatmeh, who is conducting a working visit to the United Kingdom, discussed ways to enhance cooperation and strategic partnership between police forces in the two countries, especially exchanging expertise and experience and building technical and training capabilities.
In the first day of the visit, Hawatmeh was briefed on strategic and operational plans used to manage the security operation in the United Kingdom, mechanisms for responding to accidents, major security incidents and tasks carried out by the British police.
The PSD chief and his accompanying delegation also toured the London Police operations and control room, to examine the technology used in providing emergency services and its working mechanisms.
Hawatmeh lauded as "solid" the ties between Jordan and the United Kingdom, which was reflected in the level of cooperation between the two police agencies in both kingdoms, especially in accessing best practices and modern police sciences, and use them in developing the security system and community service.
Hawatmeh, accompanied by senior PSD officers, is visiting the United Kingdom for several days, during which he will meet with UK police officials and law enforcement institutions in the British government.
