The meeting with the State Department official focused on a new memorandum of understanding the two countries will sign as the framework for US aid to Jordan, which will replace the current memo that expires in late September.

During the meeting, Safadi stressed the strong friendship and partnership between the two countries, praising Washington's support for the Kingdom, which will bolster its development process and help it to face economic and security challenges.

Hodges said Jordan is a strategic partner of the United States, stressing the deep relations between the two countries and pledging continued US support of the Kingdom. He also commended Jordan's efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
