Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Saturday reiterated Jordan's firm support of Iraq's security and stability and the need to enhance relations with Baghdad.

In a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein on the sidelines of the Doha Forum, Safadi stressed that Iraq's security is a key pillar of the security and stability of the region.

Supporting Iraq and cementing relations with it is a Jordanian priority under the guidance of His Majesty King Abdullah II, he said, pointing to the outcomes of summits between the King and the Iraqi leadership, which "took relations to wider scopes of cooperation that are in the interest of the two brotherly countries."

Hussein said Iraq appreciated the Kingdom's support.

The meeting also tackled ways to bolster relations at the bilateral level and within the context of tripartite cooperation with Egypt.

The ministers also agreed to continue coordination on regional and international developments and efforts to solve regional crises.
