Ammon News -

Health Minister Firas Hawari said that 2500 job vacancies and a series of measures to revive medical tourism has been put in place to uplift the health sector.

On the sidelines of the National Economic Workshop launched upon His Majesty King Abdullah's directives in his letter to Jordanians in late January, Hawari told Petra that the healthcare committee that emerged from the workshop has set cross-government priorities to improve the health sector including governance, computing, promoting medical tourism, and monitoring the quality and sustainability of care provided by the health sector.

He indicated that the proposed work plan presented a new vision for the ministry related to medical tourism, which includes specializations and pricing in accordance with clear mechanisms that achieve the full benefit for the patient from his arrival in Jordan until his departure.

Hawari expected that, during the coming summer, Jordan will witness a recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, which will enable the ministry to redirect and distribute health cadres to new tasks outside the framework of the pandemic.
