Army chief receives military delegations on sidelines of Aqaba Process meetings

On the sidelines of the Aqaba Process meetings, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Thursday met with Tanzanian Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa.

The two sides discussed joint military training, the exchange of expertise and means to enhance bilateral cooperation that serve the interests of both countries’ armed forces.

Huneiti also received Commander of US Special Operations Command Gen. Richard D. Clarke and the accompanying delegation.

They discussed the aspects of cooperation and coordination in the military sphere, and ways to bolster bilateral relations.

The Aqaba Process meetings, launched by His Majesty King Abdullah in 2015, aim to enhance security and military coordination and cooperation and increase the exchange of expertise and information, among various regional and international stakeholders, to counter terrorism using a holistic approach.
