Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Norwegian Ambassador to Jordan, Tone Allers, said the visit of His Majesty King Harald V, King of the Kingdom of Norway, and Her Majesty Queen Sonia, to Jordan at the invitation of His Majesty King Abdullah II, which begins tomorrow, carries "important" regional dimensions and reflects the distinguished bilateral relations.
In an interview with "Petra" on Saturday, Allers confirmed this trip is important at the regional level, as it is the first official visit by His Majesty King Harald V to the Middle East region, which is witnessing "accelerating" events, adding the region's developments and political issues will be deeply discussed in the bilateral talks.
The visit, she said, comes at a time when the two countries celebrate the 51th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, adding the visit constitutes a "valuable" opportunity to strengthen these relations at various levels and fields.
Allers said the Kingdom of Norway appreciates Jordan's role in addressing regional issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, and is keen to continue joint coordination and consultation, adding a high-ranking economic, political, social and cultural delegation will accompany their Majesties, which will make the discussions "comprehensive and productive."
Representatives of thirty Norwegian companies operating in many sectors, including health, technology, renewable energy, tourism, culture, music, and art will accompany their Majesties, she announced.
On the sidelines of the visit, she added many important events, including a symposium organized in cooperation between an institute Peace Research in Oslo, and the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan, under the auspices of King Harald, will be held focusing on boosting the value of dialogue, combating extremism, and youth.
