Gov't publishes results of e-survey on draft Income Tax Law

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Thirty-three thousand citizen have participated in an online survey launched by the government on the official Prime Ministry's website and social media.
The survey aims to capture the perception of citizens on the new draft Income Tax Law.
The poll included a host of questions pertaining to the tax burden in Jordan, tax evasion, exemptions granted to developmental zones as well as other topics concerning the national economy.
More than 89 percent of those participating in the poll raised eyebrows over the fairness of taxes levied on various productive sectors, while 11 percent of the participants agreed there was a just taxation system.
Also, 85 percent of the respondents spoke with one voice that some sectors were leveraging tax exemption in order to avoid payment of the tax due, while 15 percent disagreed on this issue.
The Prime Ministry will administer another questionnaire on lingering questions related to the draft Income Tax Law.
