Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The custom officers in Jeddah Islamic Port foiled an attempt to smuggle 257,000 Captagon pills found hidden inside a port shipping container for women’s shoes.

The general manager of the Jeddah Islamic Port Customs Abdullah al-Falay said that women’s shoes shipping arrived at the port, and when the custom officers proceeded with the usual custom routine, they discovered the Captagon pills hidden in the container.

Captagon is one of several brand names for the drug compound fenethylline hydrochloride. The pills stimulate the central nervous system, increasing alertness, boosting concentration and physical performance, and providing a feeling of well-being.

Falay added that the pills where hidden inside the cavities of the shoes, but the watchful vigilance of the customs officers terminated the scheme.
