Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour told a number of members of the Lower House of Parliament on Sunday night that he intents to carry out a government reshuffle "soon," but did not determine a date.
MP Khairallah Abu S'aileek told Ammon News that Ensour spoke candidly of his intent to reshuffle his "slim" 17-minister cabinet, however, the MP prefers not to hold any direct consultations with the parliament on the first reshuffle of his second government.
Abu S'aileek told Ammon News "we understood that the Prime Minister got the green light to reshuffle the cabinet."
The reshuffle, however, is not expected to take place before Eid al-Fitr at the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan late in the first week of August, which also coincides with the parliament adjourning into recess on August 10 until October.
Ensour had previously pledged to carryout a cabinet reshuffle, aimed to re-structure and re-divide ministerial portfolios that had been merged to reach his 17-minister slim government, after portfolios in previous governments reached nearly 30 ministers.
Upon Ensour's second government appointment, the premier had promised a move towards including members of parliament in his government, a move that would bring closer the concept of "parliamentary government," propagated by the king himself and various political figures in the state.
Ensour's 17-member cabinet was sworn in on March 30, 2013 and won the House's confidence less than a month alter on April 23, with 82 MPs voting in favor of the confidence vote, while 66 gave a no-confidence vote, out of a total o 148 present deputies.
