Security Court Orders Release of Teen Protesters

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The State Security Court (SSC) Public Prosecutor decided on Tuesday to release nine teenage protesters who were arrested and detained last week during the wave of protests and riots that erupted throughout the kingdom in reaction to the government's economic policies.
SSC, Jordan's special military tribunal, had charged the teenagers, who were arrested among over 180 protesters last week, with charges of unlawful assembly and rioting, a judicial source told Ammon News.
Several local media outlets had reported that the court brought charges against 16-year old Taqi al-Din Rawashdeh that included inciting against the regime after he took part in a protest last Tuesday held at Jamal Abdul Nasser Circle near the Interior Ministry in Amman.
The teenagers, all detained in a juvenile detention center, include Taqi al-Din Rawashdeh, Ahmad Mughrabi, Omar Hammad, Ahmad Faleh, Diya' Daraghmeh, Abdul Rahman Otaibi, Yasser Kreishan, Hamzah Fanatseh, and Abdul Rahim Manna'.
