Qudah: We are working to increase national exports

Ammon News - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply. Yarub Qudah emphasized the government's focus on improving Jordanian products, boosting their export potential, maximizing benefits from free trade agreements, and addressing challenges.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply today, Eng Qudah discussed with Senator Ahmed Al-Khudari, the Chairman of the Jordan Exporters Association, the association's board of directors, and its general manager about efforts to boost national exports and promote different export sectors for better global market access, which will enhance their performance, benefit the national economy, and create more job opportunities.

He mentioned that aside from previous government initiatives to assist the industrial sector and other sectors, the Council of Ministers recently authorized the exemption of service export profits from income tax.

He noted that the government initiated multiple initiatives to aid the industrial sector, such as the Industry Support Fund and programs by the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation and Export House Company, along with industrial policy and others.

He also emphasized the importance of establishing a strong and lasting partnership with the private sector in all its aspects, recognizing its significance within the economy and as a source of valuable expertise needed to support the national economy and solve challenges in various sectors.

The Chairman and members of the Association were grateful for the successful collaboration between the public and private sectors, as well as the focus on and encouragement of export industries, including the recent decision to waive tariffs on service exports.
