Army thwarts two drug smuggling attempts using drones

Ammon News - The Southern Military Zone thwarted on Thursday morning two attempts to smuggle a quantity of narcotic substances loaded by two drones, in coordination with the military security services and the Anti-Narcotics Department, a responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)- Arab Army announced.

The source added that the Border guard troops thwarted two separate smuggling attempts using two drones to illegally cross the border.

The source also said the rules of engagement were applied, and they were shot down inside Jordanian territory. The seized items were transferred to the competent authorities.

In addition, the source affirmed that the JAF will always exert their utmost efforts to counter whoever threatens to harm Jordan's security and its citizens and will deal with "full force and firmness" and implement the new rules of engagement, to prevent any infiltration or smuggling attempts.
