JIACC: Customs employee detained after embezzling JD48,250 within 4 months

Ammon News - The Public Prosecutor of the Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) decided to detain employee of the Jordan Customs Department with the rank of first lieutenant for 15 days pending investigation for the felony of embezzlement.

In detail, this employee took advantage of his transfer to Al-Omari Customs Office, where he was tampering with collecting fines from non-Jordanian cars that violated or exceeded the period of residence, as well as issuing border entry and exit cards.

He managed to embezzle a total of JD48,250 during the period of his work there, which did not exceed 4 months.
