MPs Ahmad Al-Safadi and Saleh Al-Armouti were the only candidates for the Speaker position. During the first session, Chairman Mujhim Al-Suqour urged them to come to an agreement to save time, but they opted for elections instead. MP Al-Armouti requested the Chairman to move the election cells to prevent cameras from showing ballot paper names, and advised MPs not to take photos of the ballots.

Ammon News - The first regular term of the House of Representatives began today, Monday, with the selection of the permanent office starting with the election of the Speaker of the House.

MPs Ahmad Al-Safadi and Saleh Al-Armouti were the only candidates for the Speaker position. During the first session, Chairman Mujhim Al-Suqour urged them to come to an agreement to save time, but they opted for elections instead.
