During his speech at the UN Security Council on Wednesday, Safadi stated that UNRWA is the backbone of the humanitarian efforts in Gaza and Israel wants to destroy it, indicating that it is another victim of the occupation's aggression against Gaza.

Safadi stressed the need for UNRWA to be protected as it was protected in the past, noting that more than 300,000 students used UNRWA schools in Gaza before the Israeli occupation destroyed them.
