Public Prosecution: 8,454 inmates benefit from General Pardon Law

Ammon News - Chief Public Prosecutor Judge Yousef Thiyabat said that the General Pardon Law included 8,454 inmates in correctional and rehabilitation centers who benefited from it completely and partially.

In a press conference held on Sunday, Thiyabat added that 4861 inmates included in the General Pardon Law were completely released, while 3593 inmates partially benefited.

Among the inmates who were released were 426 foreigners covered by the law, and 181 women, and 25 juveniles included in the General Pardon Law were also released, Judge Thiyabat stated.

He also pointed out that that 14,964 criminal cases included in the General Pardon Law were dropped.
