Ammon News - The Palestine national football team arrived in Doha on Tuesday for their participation in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 which begins January 12.

Palestine are placed in Group C for the tournament alongside Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong.

Palestine player Musab Al Battat, speaking soon after the team’s arrival thanked Qatar for hosting the tournament. “I want to thank Qatar for hosting this tournament. We have become accustomed to their organizational excellence,” he said.

On the ongoing situation in Palestine and the national football team’s training and preparations, he said, “There have been no sports activities in the past three months. We have had training camps in Algeria and Saudi Arabia. Definitely, the situation has been very difficult for us but we are looking forward to our best Asian Cup appearance. We want to deliver the message on behalf of all Palestinians that we have been waiting for.

Palestine team’s defender Mohammed Saleh, said: “We will give everything we have and everything we are capable of for the sake of our martyrs, for the sake of our people, and for the sake of the Palestinian cause, and our voice, InshaAllah, will be heard with our performance on the field.”
