Ammon News - The Ukrainian Embassy in Amman celebrates, Thursday, the 32nd anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
On this occasion, the embassy said in a statement:
"In the heart of every Ukrainian and resonating across the globe, today we mark a significant milestone – 32nd anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence Day. This commemoration isn't just a ceremonial affair but a profound tribute to the tenacity that runs deep within Ukraine's historical veins.
Independence, a treasure borne out of sacrifice, has been a cornerstone of Ukraine's successful battle against the unprovoked and brutal war of aggression waged by the russian federation. A testament to the great spirit of a people who have faced trials and tribulations. Yet, as the calendar turns to the 32nd anniversary at this pivotal moment, Ukraine stands not only as a sovereign nation but as a global symbol and force of freedom, resilience, and unity.
Since February 24, 2022, Ukraine stands as a critical barrier between the international rule-based order and a perilous era characterized by strategic piracy, revanchism, and revisionism promoted by russia and its allies. This is not just rhetoric, it is an undeniable fact. Ukraine's unwavering struggle has made the world safer and the risks of global confrontation lesser. Had it not being for Ukraine, the global security would have seen a much steeper dive, and a lot of countries globally would have suffered from the hard security erosion.
Each day, Ukraine is becoming stronger, undermining russia’s military might, eroding its political influence, and exposing the frailty of its intellectual and propaganda apparatus. What was once a brazen plan to seize Kyiv in a mere three days has transformed into a prolonged high intensity war spanning over 16 months with russia starting to feel the flames of war inside its own territory. The global isolation russia now grapples with is a self-inflicted wound, a testament to the fallout of a choice made in the pursuit of a brutal conflict.
The evolution of Ukraine since that fateful February 24 2022 is a study in strength, solidarity, and partnership. Its armed forces epitomize courage as they relentlessly drive back the invader, reclaiming every inch of the temporarily occupied territory. A swift transformation of Ukraine’s military capabilities has propelled Ukraine's defenses to unprecedented heights, fostering collaboration with NATO member-states' armed forces. Levels of resilience demonstrated by the Ukrainian official institutions have proven to the most skeptical pundits the strength of Ukrainian statehood entrenched deeply in the one thousand years old history stretching from the times of Kyiv Rus, then Zaporiz’ka Sich and leading towards the modern Ukraine. And we shall continue our thousand years old path, one step at a time.
Traditionally this day we underscore the maturity and depth of the bilateral relations that unite Ukraine and Jordan. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has proven itself to be a consistent and strong friend of Ukraine through the times of peril. We are grateful to the highest political leadership of Jordan for its invaluable support to Ukraine demonstrated within the relevant international organizations, on the humanitarian track, on the level of people-to-people contacts. I am confident that the potential for further development of bilateral cooperation between our friendly countries is immense and will be implemented to the full extent both in the times of war and in the times of peace.
As the 32nd chapter of Independence Day unfolds, Ukrainians stand tall, united, and unwavering in their commitment to strengthening an independent, sovereign, and unassailable nation. The echoes of our struggle reverberate far beyond Ukrainian borders, inspiring the world with their story of resilience and triumph. Glory to Ukraine, Glory to Heroes!"
