Strong earthquake hits northern Syria, southern Turkey

Ammon News - The Syrian National Earthquake Center said that a 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit Liwa Iskenderun City on Sunday, 60 km west of Idleb City.

“The quake occurred at 11:36 a.m. local time at a distance of 60 km west of Idleb, and at a depth of 4 km,” the center said in a statement.

For its part, the Turkish Emergency and Disaster Management Authority Center "AFAD" said that an earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck the Hatay region in southern Turkey at a depth of 7.4 km, before noon Sunday.
