FIFA awards Jordan $10.5 million after World Cup qualification

Ammon News - The Jordan national football team will receive a financial reward of $9 million for participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to an announcement by the governing body, FIFA.

In addition, each qualified team will receive $1.5 million to cover preparation costs, bringing the total amount allocated to the Jordanian team to $10.5 million.

The FIFA Council approved a record financial distribution of $727 million for the 2026 World Cup, representing a 50% increase compared with the 2022 tournament in Qatar. Of this amount, $655 million will be distributed as prize money among the 48 participating national teams.

The tournament champion will receive $50 million, while the runner-up will earn $33 million. The third-place team will receive $29 million, and the fourth-place finisher $27 million.

Teams finishing between 5th and 8th place will receive $19 million each, while those finishing between 9th and 16th place will earn $15 million each. Teams ranked 17th to 32nd will receive $11 million each, while teams eliminated in the group stage (positions 33rd to 48th) will be awarded $9 million each.

Jordan will make its first-ever appearance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, having been drawn into Group J alongside Argentina, Austria, and Algeria.
