Senate president, Romanian PM talk ties

Ammon News - President of the Senate Faisal Fayez and Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca on Thursday stressed the importance of strengthening, developing and building on Jordanian-Romanian relations in various fields and working together to serve the interests of the two countries and peoples.

They made the remarks during a meeting in Romania within the framework of an official visit at the invitation of the President of the Romanian Senate Alina Gorghiu. The visit tackled bilateral relations and means to enhance them and the current regional situation.

Fayez underlined the deep-rooted Jordanian-Romanian relations and commitment to developing them in various fields, pointing to Jordan's commitment to activating bilateral agreements and increasing trade exchange, economic and investment cooperation with Romania, in addition to the importance of signing more bilateral cooperation agreements.

He lauded Romania's positions in support of Jordan and the development of Jordan's relations with European Union countries, especially in the economic and political aspects.

For his part, the Romanian Prime Minister said his country supports Jordan, its efforts and its pivotal role, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, to achieve security and stability in the region, stressing his pride in the "high level of relations" between the two countries in various fields.

Ciuca praised the efforts made by His Majesty King Abdullah II to end conflicts and crises in the region and ensure security and stability through dialogue and finding political solutions in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.

He pointed to ongoing consultation with Jordan on various issues of common interest, stressing Romania's commitment to expanding cooperation and taking the necessary steps to strengthen relations between the two countries and between Jordan and the European Union countries.
