FM visits collapsed building in which 2 Jordanians reside in Antakya

Ammon News - Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, on Wednesday visited the building that collapsed in Antakya because of the earthquake, in which there were two Jordanians, and was briefed on rescue efforts to locate them.

Safadi was briefed by the Turkish rescue team and the Jordanian embassy's operations room staff, on procedures and efforts aimed at locating the Jordanian citizens.

A team from the Jordanian embassy in Ankara has been at the building site for a week to search for the two Jordanians who were present in the building when it collapsed.

"The work is continuing and that the embassy team will continue to be present at the site until we find our sons," the foreign minister said in press statements on the sidelines of the visit.

He added that the King's directives demand to continue to exert every effort and utilize every possible and available resources until we know the fate of our sons."

"Although there are great challenges, we continue to work," Safadi stressed. He expressed his appreciation for the Turkish authorities and the Turkish rescue teams' cooperation, despite the heavy burden.
