Temperatures to dip seven degrees below average

Ammon News - Temperatures on Thursday are forecast to drop 6 to 7 degrees below average, bringing icy and partly cloudy weather conditions, with a chance for scattered showers in the northern and central regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

The weather department issued alerts about slick roads and poor horizontal visibility over the highlands due to dense fog.

A slight rise in mercury levels is expected on Friday and Saturday, but cold weather will persist with clouds at various altitudes.

Temperatures in the capital Amman today will range between a high of 2 degrees Celsius and a low of 0C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 18C, sliding to 10C at night.
